Age well, on your own terms

Sun and time leave their marks, and the face shows them first. Dr. Palladino tailors surgical facial rejuvenation to the male face, restoring definition without softening the features that make it yours.

Fine lines, wrinkles, and creases turn up across the face and neck with age. Sun damage and stress hurry them along, and plenty of men grow self-conscious about what they see.

Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Humberto Palladino offers forehead lifts, neck lifts, and facelifts for men in South Florida, including Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Boca Raton, North Palm Beach, and the surrounding areas. Facial surgery is highly effective against many of the aging and skin conditions that middle-aged men bring in.

Facial rejuvenation for men, also known as rhytidectomy, can address concerns such as:

  • Noticeable fine lines, wrinkles, and creases on the face and neck
  • Sagging or loose skin along the jawline and neck
  • A "turkey neck" or double chin
  • Brow lines and forehead wrinkles from expressions and squinting
  • Loss of a defined, pronounced jawline
  • Bags or hollow pockets under the eyes, or droopy eyelids
  • Sun damage and discoloration contributing to an aged appearance

All surgery carries risks and every patient is different. Candidacy, realistic expectations, and your personalized plan are determined during your one-on-one consultation with Dr. Palladino.

Surgical options

Five techniques, one tailored plan

How much your rhytidectomy has to do decides the technique. Dr. Palladino may use one of the following, or several of them together.

Forehead Lift

Brow lines, forehead wrinkles & squint lines

Years of expression and squinting etch brow lines and wrinkles across the forehead. A forehead lift corrects them, either on its own or as part of facelift surgery, and keeps the brow as natural-looking as possible.

Neck Lift

Turkey neck, double chin & sagging neck skin

Neck lift surgery (platysmaplasty or cervicoplasty) works through tiny incisions around the ears. Combined with liposuction, it tightens sagging or baggy skin on the neck and face, and it takes out a "double chin" or "turkey neck."

Mid-Facelift

Under the eyes, cheeks & nasal furrows

A men's mid-facelift works under the eyes, across the cheeks, and around any nasal furrows, tightening loose skin in the mid-face for a more alert, rested look.

Full Facelift

Face and neck, in one procedure

A full facelift combines several of the techniques above, addressing multiple zones of the face and neck in one procedure. It is the choice for men who want the most change in one operation.

Mini-Facelift

Also called the "weekend lift"

Recovery is quick enough that this one earned the nickname "weekend lift." The men's mini-facelift works on the neck, nose, cheeks, and just around the eyes, for men who want a real improvement with less downtime.

Your goals

What facial rejuvenation can achieve

Facelifts for men are among the most requested cosmetic surgical procedures Dr. Palladino performs. Together, you and Dr. Palladino can work toward:

  • Tightening and lifting sagging skin
  • Eliminating a turkey neck, double chin, or excess neck skin
  • Rejuvenating the eyes and correcting droopy eyelids
  • Filling, tightening, and improving lines and wrinkles on the face, forehead, and neck
  • Realigning improper facial expressions or brow lines
  • Restoring a pronounced jawline and skin elasticity
  • Correcting bags or hollow pockets under the eyes
  • Achieving a combination of the above results

Dr. Palladino and his team will help you determine which type of facelift is best for your lifestyle and appearance, based on your health history, current needs, budget, and desired healing time.

Working with Dr. Palladino

Preparing for your surgery

Start with a private consultation. Dr. Palladino will walk you through the facial rejuvenation options and help you decide whether a surgical facelift is the right call or whether a nonsurgical treatment would serve you better.

Dr. Palladino can simulate your possible facial rejuvenation results with the advanced Vectra 3D imaging system. At that time, he can show you exactly what must be done to give you the look you want. He will also discuss estimated healing and recovery times on an individual basis, as everyone is different.

Both before and on the day of your facelift, it is important not to use any lotions, aftershave, shaving cream, or anything on your face. You should also try to prevent sun exposure for a couple of weeks prior to and for at least eight weeks after having facelift surgery. Stop smoking at least two weeks prior to and following your men's cosmetic surgery, as this increases the chance of blood clots.

You will not be able to drive, so bring a relative or friend along to take you to and from the surgery. Expect to be there for at least the afternoon, though most of that time is spent in the recovery room.

What to expect

Recovery, a realistic timeline

Dr. Palladino and his team do everything possible to ensure a smooth, comfortable recovery. Following all post-operative instructions carefully will help you heal as quickly as possible.

Day of Surgery

You will not be able to drive, so bring a relative or friend along to take you to and from the surgery center. Expect to spend at least the afternoon there, primarily in the recovery room, before being released home with your companion.

First Week

Some soreness, swelling, and bruising are common and expected. Rest comfortably and follow Dr. Palladino's post-operative instructions carefully. You will attend your first follow-up visit so Dr. Palladino can monitor your healing progress.

Weeks 2–4

Swelling and bruising gradually subside. Many patients return to light daily activities and office work. Strenuous exercise and activities that could affect the healing areas should still be avoided until cleared by Dr. Palladino.

6–8 Weeks

Most patients avoid sun exposure for at least eight weeks post-surgery. Results become increasingly visible as residual swelling resolves. For many patients, this is when they begin to truly appreciate the improvement.

Long-Term Results

Final results settle as residual swelling resolves over the following months. A well-performed facelift lasts, so you go on looking like a rested version of yourself for years.

Investment

Pricing & financing

Several things decide what a men's cosmetic facelift costs. A "weekend facelift," a mini-facelift, and a full rhytidectomy each price differently. You will have a fair quote before the procedure, after a detailed one-on-one consultation with Dr. Palladino.

Financing is available for individuals who qualify. Dr. Palladino and his team strive to make facial rejuvenation for men in South Florida as accessible as possible.
